Maps, Revisited: Table Numbers

One of the easiest ways I have found to stick with our reluctantly assigned theme has been the use of our map paper from Paper Source.

If you remember from our invites, the map paper made itself at home as our invitation mats as well as a belly band for the pocket fold envelope.

Although Mr. Plane was incredibly sick of the map paper after cutting each 20″ x 28″ piece into several 4″ x 7″ pieces, I was not finished with map paper quite yet.

First up? Table numbers.

Although I had my centerpiece inspiration early on, I initially cared very little about table numbers. I knew they were a necessary evil for a wedding of our size, but I just couldn’t seem to find anything I liked. Now I will admit, I do not adore our table numbers — I like them just fine. What I do adore was the price and the ease in which they came to be.

I’m sure you’ve seen these IKEA TOLSBY frames before — Mrs. Stripes and Mrs. Elephant both used them, as I’m sure many bees after them (they were just the first to pop up during a search — hi, ladies!). But it was Mrs. Gray Wolf’s post that originally gave me the idea for our own travel-themed table numbers.

Taking a cue from Mrs. GW, I set off to IKEA to secure the 30 TOLSBY frames I would need. Mr. Plane helped.

From there I used some scraps of the map paper that was left over from invitation assembly, along with a couple fresh sheets, to map-ify the frames.

Next, Cousin A dedicated a couple precious hours of her weekend helping me use her Cricut to fashion the numbers that would fill the frames. Voila!

This was one task I am happy to check off my list. Every so often, when a project just doesn’t excite me, I am just glad to get it done and move on to something more fun…like our escort cards, which I’m going to tell you about in my next post!

What wedding projects were you happy to check off your list? Any other IKEA-obsessed brides out there?
