Love is in the Air: Post-Ceremony Happenings & Reception Detail

Immediately following the ceremony, the wedding party followed Mr. Plane and I back into the holding room where we celebrated a successful ceremony and I admired my new hardware.

Once all of the guests had vacated the sanctuary, we made our way back in to sign the marriage certificate.

We also took the opportunity to snap a few more couple’s photos, including my absolute favorite of the day:

Meanwhile, our guests were arriving at the reception location.

Guests entered through a hallway leading into the ballroom. On the way, they could stop to pick up their escort cards. Remember when I hoped that people would reuse the little airplane clips? They totally did!

We also had this lovely guestbook provided by our photographers. It was so much fun to read what guests had written. Our wine bottle guest book was present as well and got plenty of signatures, too!

Guests found their tables

And a napkin pouch full of goodies. Fun fact: Mr. Plane and I folded every single napkin by hand the week before the wedding.

Included at each place setting was a menu card, box of tic-tacs, a mini pencil, and a guestbook card.

If you remember, our custom tic-tac boxes were meant to signal that our guests wanted us to kiss. It worked better than I ever imagined and we didn’t hear clinking glasses once the whole night!

The guestbook cards were also a huge hit. I was amazed at the artistic work of so many of our guests!

One last-minute project that Mr. Plane undertook was our cornhole boards. He had made a Detroit Tigers-themed set earlier in the year, and we decided the game would be a fun addition to cocktail hour. He whipped up these bad boys in about a week.

At some points in the night, we had more people on the cornhole boards than the dancefloor!
